A major portion of Embria’s research on EpiCor has been with double-blind, placebo-controlled human trials, looking at clinical endpoints. These results were aimed at demonstrating statistically significant improvements of the consumer’s health, and have been published in peer-reviewed Medline-indexed journals. Although reduction in symptoms of upper respiratory track infection (URTI) and allergies were the main thrust of the research, the importance of clinical biomarkers in demonstrating the causes of these beneficial effects was also recognized, and some of these results are reported in this paper. All effects are in vivo and on healthy human adults unless otherwise stated.Read More

Raw Material Analysis by Fourier Transform Near Infrared (FT-NIR) Spectroscopy
Speakers: Gayle Kittelson, Quality Manager, Embria Health Sciences; Mark Terrell, Product Manager, NIR, Buchi Corporation
Presented: Wednesday, August 28, 2013, 2:00 pm EST
This free webinar is an introduction on the use of FT-NIR for sample identification in the Nutraceutical Industry. Fourier transform near-infrared (FT-NIR) spectroscopy, in combination with multivariate data analysis, is a well proven and widely used technique in the pharmaceutical industry for the ingredient identification. Identification provides a means of evaluating whether or not the test sample is a member of the population for which the calibration model was developed. FT-NIR is a fast and nondestructive technique that provides both chemical and physical properties on virtually any matrix.
In this webinar you will learn:
- Insights on the use of NIRS in the Nutraceutical Industry
- The presentation of a NIR method development framework for the Pharmaceutical Industry
- Tips and tricks on developing a NIR calibration suitable for validation
