Human Clinical Trials

EpiCor has undergone eight human clinical trials, all of which have been published in  peer-reviewed scientific journals and have used a standard dose of 500 mg per day. Six of the eight trials conform to the “gold standard” of clinical design in that they were randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trials.  Results show that EpiCor strengthens the immune system while it balances immune response; and significant measurable results can be seen in as little as two hours. Human clinical trials include:

  • Colds and flu Symptoms (vaccinated and nonvaccinated)
    • “Immunogenic yeast-based fermentate for cold/flu-like symptoms in nonvaccinated individuals,” The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, 2010
    • “Effects of a modified yeast supplement on cold/flu symptoms,” Urologic Nursing, 2008
  • Allergy Symptoms
    • “Immunogenic yeast-based fermentation product reduces allergic rhinitis-induced nasal congestion: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial,” Advance in Therapy, 2009
  • Rapid response
    • “Antioxidant bioavailability and rapid immune-modulating effects after consumption of a single acute dose of a high-metabolite yeast immunogen: results of a placebo-controlled double-blinded crossover pilot study,” Journal of Medicinal Food, 2011
  • Digestive Health & Microbiome
    • "A yeast fermentate improves gastrointestinal discomfort and constipation by modulation of the gut microbiome: results from a randomized double-blind placebo-controlled pilot trial," BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine, 2017
  • Immune strength through measuring sIgA (PDF)
    • “A double-blind placebo-controlled, randomized pilot study: consumption of a high-metabolite immunogen from yeast culture has beneficial effects on erythrocyte health and mucosal immune protection in healthy subjects,” The Open Nutrition Journal, 2008
  • Immune balance and strength through measuring sIgE & sIgA (PDF)
    • “A double-blind placebo-controlled, randomized pilot study: consumption of a high-metabolite immunogen from yeast culture has beneficial effects on erythrocyte health and mucosal immune protection in healthy subjects,” The Open Nutrition Journal, 2008
